Job Description
• Performs system configuration, software installation and upgrades of Win2003/2008 systems acting as Database servers and application servers.
• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation.
• Optimizes system availability, security, and performance for selected systems.
• Perform all backups and recovery for the DC environment using Veritas Netbackup
• Software installation and configuration, applying modules and patches, network security.
• Strong documentation and record keeping skills, with extreme attention to detail.
• Install server hardware, operating system software, front-end and back-end server components, and production application services according to defined requirements and data center operations standards.
• Basic understanding of Active Directory, IIS 6.0, WSUS, DHCP & DNS Servers.
• Develop and maintain documentation including server build docs, configuration standards, infrastructure architecture.
• Responds to incidents to avoid system outages or restore availability to meet service level (SLA) objectives. Performs problem determination, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Installs changes to server hardware, operating systems, server components and production application services as required according to change management practices.
• Maintain backup infrastructure and architecture.
• Following ITIL Process,Participate with Incident Management process and troubleshooting problems
• Server Health Check Monitoring:
• Checking Server health (CPU, Memory and Space Utilization of Servers)
• Check the Physical Inspection of Datacenter and Servers
• Checking Server health (CPU, Memory and Space Utilization of Servers)
• Checking Anti-virus definition file version on server.
• Problem Management: resolving problem tickets through Ticketing tool
• Event logs Review
• Change Management Process\\ RFC Creation
• Portrait Database updation/validation
• Server User ID Validation
• vulnerability assessment(VA) for Security High Holes closer and Tracking Sheet
• Diagnosing server/Hardware related issue
• Backup and Restore Activities:
• Monitoring VERITAS Net backup
• Restoration Testing
• Database Cold / Hot backup
• Monitoring VERITAS net backup Media Requirements.
• Publish Daily Dashboard of Server performance & Backup activity
• Portable Storage Media (PSM) Management
• BIOS/Firmware/Drivers Updation
