Job Description: Responsibilities : Interact with Marketing and System architecture group to come up with solutions for different customer requirements and generate reasonable bounding box limits for the product definition
Propose innovative design solutions and design methodologies
Evaluating and selecting IPs and performing trade-off analysis
Translate architecture requirements into micro-architecture specs
Write a comprehensive SOC architecture document
Architecting Bridges, Clock and Reset distribution, and Clock generation
Performing bus bandwidth and I/O bandwidth calculations
Work closely with the SOC Design and Verification groups to ensure all the features are implemented properly and review the details periodically
Work closely with DFT Architect to ensure all the test features and test optimizations are reasonable and achievable
Provide strong technical leadership in problem solving and planning
Influence IP, CMOS Technology, Package technology and Design Methodology roadmaps in the organization
Perform competitive analysis of architectures in the marketplace and generate reports for senior management Experience & Skills: 10-15 years of experience in SOC design and at least 3-5 years of recent experience in architecting or leading integration of complex SOC with multiple processors and high speed peripherals like PCI-Express, USB & Display Port etc.,
Possess a Masters degree or PhD in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Good working knowledge in any of the following areas: X86, North Bridge & South Bridge functionality, 3-D Graphics, DDR-2/3/5 Standards, Video Encode and Decode standards, PCI-Express, USB, Display technology is required.
Direct experience on x86 SOC is a plus, but not required
Experience in Architecting and Designing Mobile Application processors will be considered for the job offered
Thorough understanding of Low power design guidelines, Usage of Power/Voltage Island, and Dynamic Voltage/Frequency scaling (DVFS) techniques is required
Solid SOC design or verification background and know-how on state-of-the-art SOC design methodologies and sub-micron technology challenges is a plus
Understanding of the PC & Video software architecture and BIOS is a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate information and ideas succinctly
Ability to solve complex problems by reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
