• The Landscape Architect is a team/group leader with a strong background in developing Design Conceptually and/or Technically; translating them into solutions. Concept Design and Design Development • Understands and clarifies client's and Statutory Authority requirements. Knowledge of applicable building codes; • Determines, obtains, collates, and analyses all necessary design input data; • Develops exceptional concept designs which reflects innovative, creative thinking while at the same time, meeting the client's brief and agreed building budget, and are compliant with the relevant statutory regulations; • Describes and defends conceptual thinking to peers and superiors; • Develops concept(s) to integrate requirements of all disciplines to ensure delivery of a practical, working design(s), that are compliant with all relevant regulations and do not exceed the agreed building budget; • Accommodates the functional aspects of other disciplines; Construction Drawings • Effectively analyses the technical aspects of the design to ascertain the implecations of design decisions relatives to the use of modern technologies; • Develops detailed designs from agreed concepts, while applying practical design / engineering principles and the latest technological philosophies; Project Coordination • Participates in the development of the Design / Production team structure, size and composition and a project time schedule in collaboration with the Project Principal; • Assists the Project Principal in assessing the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and to determine scope of work, budget and staffing; • Writes scope of work for design, based on preliminary review and meetings with the Project Prinicipal; • Collaborates with the Project Prinicipal throughout the duration of a project to establish realistic and achievable project goals with prudent time schedules; • Attends design meetings with various parties (clients, suppliers, statutory authorities, other disciplines, site meetings) to clarify and/or confirm requirements, obtain information and ensure that all design facets of the projects are being correctly scoped; • Ensures the appropriate involvement of structural, mechanical and electircal disciplines in the development of concept designs; • Manages the development of the approved concept design into a functional and efficient schematic arrangment that is effectively coordinated with the other disciplines (Engineering, Structural/ Civil & QS); • Assits in the preparation of preliminary cost estimates for concept designs
