1. Ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the stores. 2. The duty roster is prepared and all staff under his/her charge is allocated duties. 3. The store is manned round the clock as per the standard. 4. All items received from the R&D store are promptly taken on stock in the stock in register. 5. All transactions are recorded accurately and immediately in the appropriate document. 6. All documents (Stock in Register, Store Issue Note, Stores Transfer Note Requisition Monitoring Register, Bin Location, Computer Database, RAL Updates and any other documentation present) are promptly updated and accurately maintained. 7. Engineering/MCC is intimated immediately upon arrival of new receipts. 8. Track the issue of Rotables/Core units and ensure that the repairable/ tools/ returnable items are collected from the relevant department. 9. Notify the appropriate authorities in writing when returnable items are not received in the store within 24 hours of its issue. 10. All requested items are issued in an appropriate manner. 11. Promptly arrange the dispatch of spares to outstations and to collect repairable for export, as the case may be. 12. All fast moving/regular spares are provisioned regularly and adequate stocks of all spares are maintained, at all times. 13. Adequate stocks of all spares are maintained at all times. 14. Stocks are immediately replenished when minimum stock levels are attained. 15. Medical kits are replenished and authorized immediately upon receipt. 16. All issues are made on a first in first out basis. 17. Ensure stock-taking of stores is completed once every six months (for central stores) and once every three months (for outstation bases). All non-moving parts are to be identified and brought to notice of the Asst Controller-Stores/Manager-Engg Stores. Any discrepancies are to be immediately brought to attention of Asst Controller / Manager-Engg Stores.
