We need urgently - Vector Control Technician & Vector control Operator ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs semi-skilled, skilled, technical and administrative work in the area of seasonal insect and
rodent control, plague surveillance. Assists in performance of safety instruction and compliance.
Works under the general guidance and direction of the Parks Superintendent or Assistant Parks
Superintendent.
Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
Supervises temporary staff and community service workers assigned to vector control work.
Plans, carries out and evaluates vector control and preventive maintenance schedules for areas within
the City of Farmington and all City facilities, either personally, or through assigned staff. Locates,
surveys and monitors breeding sites; collects identifying specimens. Maintains maps, photographs and
records of each site and treatment applied.
Monitor, larvacide or adulticide mosquito sites. (March-September).
Analyzes, develops, and recommends long and short-range goals and methods for specific programs;
develops fiscal data for program implementation and maintenance. Collects, analyses and interprets
data for use in reporting and recommending corrective action and for information purposes.
Responds to complaints or concerns from the public regarding pest control. Works with public in order
to inform public in elimination of causes, as may be required.
